Surroundings

Here are some pictures of the premises and surrounding countryside.

The Montalbano hills and forest are excellent for walks, and the many little villages around us are also worth visiting. In addition, the Medicis left behind an enormous amount of art and architecture, much of which can be found in the Tuscan countryside -- as well as in the famous museums of Florence, easily accessible by train for day trips. Because the Montalbano hills were once the private hunting grounds of the Medicis, many of their country villas, still filled with their belongings, are located nearby.

You can also easily visit beautiful and historically important cities -- Florence, Siena, Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano, and Lucca -- as well as other smaller, less visited, but still interesting cities including Colle val d'Elsa, Certaldo Alto, Montalcino, San Miniato, Cerreto Guidi, Poggio a Caiano, Pistoia -- and, of course, Vinci.

In our agriturismo, each apartment has books about the area, and other information about things to do or visit. And we are always happy to give advice.
